My cookbook, Ripe and Ready, is a culmination of my project for the Wild Food and Medicine class. This cookbook is dedicated to the persimmon fruit and aims to reconnect people with this often-overlooked wild food. Much foraging knowledge has become culturally marginalized or erased over time, leaving many in our society with a fear of, and alienation from, the wild foods and medicines around them. Ripe and Ready seeks to bridge this gap by providing accessible and delightful recipes that highlight the versatility and nutritional benefits of persimmons. Through this work, I hope to inspire others to rediscover and embrace the natural bounty that surrounds us.
